Germany >> Württemberg >> Rotwein

Along the Neckar River lies the Württemberg wine-growing region between Tübingen and Heidelberg. Jura strata in the Swabian Alb, Keuperland near Stuttgart, Muschelkalk in the north. The vineyards form an unmistakable and varied wine landscape.
Predominantly deep, reddish-warm Keupermergel, deposits of a long time gone ocean, but also gypsum Keuper and colorful marl with a large, natural supply of minerals and nutrients, offer to the wine very fertile soils.
Many of these soils are excellent for many red wine varieties, a figurehead in Württemberg, but classic white wine varieties such as Riesling grow and thrive very well here as well.
