Germany >> Ahr >> Rotwein

The Ahr valley in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate is one of the most prominent red wine growing areas in Germany. The Romans already cultivated wine in the Ahr valley. Spätburgunder is regarded as the "King" of the Ahr.
With 520 hectares of vineyards, the Ahr ranks tenth among the thirteen German wine-growing regions. The quality aspirations of many winegrowers on the Ahr are made possible by the many extremely steep sites with small terraces, but also make working tedious. The quality achieved is worth the effort.
The grapes find optimal conditions in the Ahr valley. The Mediterranean climate brings solar warmth, which is stored by the rocks, slate and vineyard walls and is released at night again to the vines.
